I'm a second-year undergradute in UNIMAS.
The above statement shocks me to hell. I couldn't believe that time pass so fast. It was like just yesterday when we all entered UNIMAS as newbies and yet today, we finished a year of studies (althought not really a yaer-worth of studies.)
Hey.. come on lah! I hate studying but yet I couldn't say no to university life!!!!!!!
Yesterday, I attended the first lecture by Dr. Lee Kui Soon. He made one statement which I fully agreed. "1+1 is not necessary equal to 2".
So, what do you think? Why people ask you how much is 1 plus 1? and you will automatically answer '2'? This is because we are being taught since a child that 1+1=2!
Think of the question the other way round. Using one example (assuming it can be applied in various species) ---> 1 rooster + 1 hen?
Think of the question 'shallowly' we will give the answer equals to 2 chickens!
NOw, let's think a little deeper. What will happen when you lock 1 rooster + 1 hen in a coop? Some time later, the hen will lay eggs. And incubate the eggs. And -pops!- comes out the little chicks! So, 1 + 1 still equals to 2?? It's up to you...
