Arabic*()@*$()!&*@&#(*^*&%!

When you first heard of Arabic, what's the first thing that flash across your mind?

Right, 9 out of 10 people will answer - Islam.

Well, I am the only Chinese in the Arabic class for intersession. Many will ask me, are you out of your mind? I will answer, "No, I"m just so desperate and have no other choice but to take this course." To be honest, "I don't even know what the heck Arabic is.

Yesterday, I was went to the class with full enthusiasm. Today, I came back from the class with full disappointment.
This is my story.

I took up this course called Arabic Language Level 1 (Which is supposed to be very basic and easy). Yet to my surprise, I found majority of my course mates learnt Arabic in primary school. They are able to catch up fast, but ME... i just 'met' Arabic yesterday and just only learnt the basic 28 letters. Today, the lecturer tested us on the 28 letters and then expects us to all be able to read Arabic words in a glance. Hey, come on lah. ISn't it too much and not fair for us who are just starting to learn Arabic? I am very discouraged by the way the lecturer commented me after I'm at total lost after he read words by words where all my class mates seems to know how to read and also their meaning! He's accusing me of not paying attention!

I vow, because of the way I am biased out, that I will do all the research and extra work needed to learn basic Arabic. I will not chicken out just because I am a slow learner.
