Life and love are 2 different things. We live our lives to fulfill our basic needs and our desires. Some desire for vast amount of money, ample of properties and a fleet of cars. Life is how we protect ourselves and satisfy our needs. Some desire for love, a human's desire. Apparently, most of the individuals seek for love in their lives. Which is why we have young couples, marriages, divorces, gays, lesbians, children so on and so forth.
Yet, not more than 2 in 10 people will understand what is the term 'unconditional love' means and to what extent it should be incorporated in your life.
Unconditional love is to love someone regardless of one's actions or beliefs. The love between lovers and also the love between family members.
How much are we willing to give unconditional love to the dearest in our lives? To our parents? To our lover? or to your kids? We don't buy love with money. Also we don't use money as the factor to love someone! That is so damn selfish!
There is a family I met through Legion of Mary work, where the daughter is totally paralyzed because of a road accident, 6 or 7 years ago. The parents and sisters never gave up caring for her. They are all very supportive of her. The most touching part is that her current boyfriend before the accident still stays with her until today. He never stop loving her, although she is paralyzed and no longer beautiful as before. He is always there for her until today. Never leaving her. We should all learn from this family. Unconditional love among the family members and between lovers.
Start to appreciate everyone around you. Stop being selfish and all you care about is you yourselves.
We all want to feel loved. We think about it, hope for it, fantasize about it, go to great lengths to achieve it, and feel that our lives are incomplete without it. The lack of unconditional love is the cause of most of our anger and confusion. If you are the person who is always in anger and confusion, ask youself 'how many person in your life that you truly loved unconditionally' and 'how many loved you in return'?

Well... Uni Life is bacK~
I'm a second-year undergradute in UNIMAS.
The above statement shocks me to hell. I couldn't believe that time pass so fast. It was like just yesterday when we all entered UNIMAS as newbies and yet today, we finished a year of studies (althought not really a yaer-worth of studies.)
Hey.. come on lah! I hate studying but yet I couldn't say no to university life!!!!!!!
Yesterday, I attended the first lecture by Dr. Lee Kui Soon. He made one statement which I fully agreed. "1+1 is not necessary equal to 2".
So, what do you think? Why people ask you how much is 1 plus 1? and you will automatically answer '2'? This is because we are being taught since a child that 1+1=2!
Think of the question the other way round. Using one example (assuming it can be applied in various species) ---> 1 rooster + 1 hen?
Think of the question 'shallowly' we will give the answer equals to 2 chickens!
NOw, let's think a little deeper. What will happen when you lock 1 rooster + 1 hen in a coop? Some time later, the hen will lay eggs. And incubate the eggs. And -pops!- comes out the little chicks! So, 1 + 1 still equals to 2?? It's up to you...

The Famous Beethoven
Everyone knows the famous Beethoven. The great composer who wrote many of the world's most popular classics. Whenever we listen to Fur Elise or the Moonlight Sonata, Beethoven will automatically 'flash' across our mind.
However, how many of us who knew that Beethoven's hearing begins to deteriorate since his early twenties? I believe most of us only knew that he lost his hearing at the age of 36, yet he continued to compose, and to conduct and perform, even after he was completely deaf.
Apparently he suffered from tinnitus, a 'ringing' in his ears that made it hard for him to perceive and appreciate music. The cause of Beethoven's deafness is unknown, but it has been attributed to syphilis, lead poisoning, typhus and even his habit of immersing his head in cold water to stay awake!
In later years, Russell Martin had done an analysis on a sample of Beethoven's hair and discovered that there were alarmingly high levels of lead in Beethoven's body. High concentrations of lead can lead to bizarre and erratic behaviour, including rages. Another symptom of lead poisoning is deafness.
In Beethoven's time, lead was used widely without an understanding of the damage to which it could lead: for sweetening wine, in finishes on porcelain, and even in medicines.
Well, to me, this explains why his works are all very moody and expressive which i presume was affected by his bizarre behaviours. Hey, this is why Beethoven is looked upon as the figure who lead the transition between Classical and Romantic periods. That is one significant musical development because without Beethoven there will be a missing chunk in the timeline of music development. And who knows... without him there might not be the Romantic period which we knew.
An interesting fact, when his hearing loss became profound: there is a well-attested story that, at the end of the premiere of his Ninth Symphony [The fourth movement features an elaborate choral setting of Schiller's Ode An die Freude ("Ode to Joy")], he had to be turned around to see the tumultuous applause of the audience; hearing nothing, he began to weep.
Phew... we all live to hear every Beethoven's composition whilst he himself did not even heard ofl of his own compositions! Let us be thankful that we have normal hearing...

Arabic*()@*$()!&*@(*^*&%!
When you first heard of Arabic, what's the first thing that flash across your mind?
Right, 9 out of 10 people will answer - Islam.
Well, I am the only Chinese in the Arabic class for intersession. Many will ask me, are you out of your mind? I will answer, "No, I"m just so desperate and have no other choice but to take this course." To be honest, "I don't even know what the heck Arabic is.
Yesterday, I was went to the class with full enthusiasm. Today, I came back from the class with full disappointment.
This is my story.
I took up this course called Arabic Language Level 1 (Which is supposed to be very basic and easy). Yet to my surprise, I found majority of my course mates learnt Arabic in primary school. They are able to catch up fast, but ME... i just 'met' Arabic yesterday and just only learnt the basic 28 letters. Today, the lecturer tested us on the 28 letters and then expects us to all be able to read Arabic words in a glance. Hey, come on lah. ISn't it too much and not fair for us who are just starting to learn Arabic? I am very discouraged by the way the lecturer commented me after I'm at total lost after he read words by words where all my class mates seems to know how to read and also their meaning! He's accusing me of not paying attention!
I vow, because of the way I am biased out, that I will do all the research and extra work needed to learn basic Arabic. I will not chicken out just because I am a slow learner.

InterSession at UniMaS
It's my first day at intersession today. Kind of cool, i have a single room all to myself. Next post i will share photos of my new room~ Now is under 'construction'. Lolz.
Well, guess what, i took Arabic Language for my elective course.
Don't get me wrong, it is not my first choice. Well, i should say i have no other choice but to take Arabic.
Anyway, i take up the challenge to learn a totally new language. If they can, why not me!
Today, I visited my best friend Miss Karen at her apartment. As usual, she is the 'da jie' and 'rules' the world. Haha... her voice is ever booming across the blocks which saved me the trouble to find her apartment. And i have lunch with Karen, Lee Ping and Sing Yu too! Thanks ya guys! -Karen cooks for us eh... no wonder tonight rain so heavily-
Tonight I have a new resolution, I want to work my ways towards FLCM performance by year 2010. No matter what people says or thinks about LCM, i will still go my way and will be the one who will stand up for LCM and shows that the standards are all the same, be it ABRSM, TCL or LCM. Don't judge a book by it's cover!

Teaching Music - PIano
Teaching music- is it as easy as what all of us think it is?
Here's a scenario, a student and a teacher. The student plays a piece and then the teacher corrects which notes are wrongly played. And then the student learns a new piece where the teacher teaches note by note. And that's it, we call it a lesson.
Is this the new trend of teaching music? The trend where music turns into business and no longer the passion of teaching music to the youngsters? It's all about money, for RM 80 a beginner students get a 45 minutes practical per lesson. If you pay RM 60, the beginner only get 40 minutes practical per lesson.
Oh My GOd... I couldn't imagine what has these people turns music into. Yeah, I cannot deny that music tutor can earn a very good income, but for the least give back what the student had paid for. Coming to a lesson and just learning pieces by pieces doesn't teaches the students the beauty of music nor the correct interpretation of music. What do they learn? Read notes by notes and played them. What will they turn into? Definitely not worth of the mounds of gold the parents invested in music lessons; they turn into robots who plays only what they see. The music tutors all become millionare by earning so much for doing such a easy job.
It is just so sad... What this world had become. The most beautiful thing - music- is being tarnished by business, business and business! I didn't say we shouldn't charge for music lessons which, of course, music tutors need to earn a living too. But, music teachers should learn to be more flexible and not so money-orientated when they come to teaching music.
It is so rare to find a music student who plays and hears what they themselves are playing. We rarely see a enthusiated student going for music lesson anymore; most children are half-forced by their parents to go for music lessons.
Another scenario, a eight-years old kid coming for a piano class. The mother "Quick, go in and learn now! The teacher is ready for you. Don't waste the time anymore. Mummy paid for every minute you wasted!". The kid "I don't like music! I want to go home!". And the mother says again "YOU Must Go in now, or i will ground you for one month! I just paid for your lesson fee and don't you dare to talk back at me!".
Gosh, parents have to understand too that in these circumstances both the kid and teacher will be unhappy throughout the lesson. The kid will most probaby become angry and refused to learn although they reluctantly attends the classes. The teacher will have one hell of a time trying to teach the kid how to play the piano. In the end, the money is wasted, the kid is unhappy and the teacher felt guilty for not carrying out her responsibility to teach the kid.
Huh... the world is going 'terbalik'...
